At NEWRAK, our Managers and Directors have the experience and skills to lead our projects knowledgably.
Among the board of directors we have the expertise of the Managing Director, Klaus Dieter Ekkehard Fischer, who has a B.Eng (Mining) degree and is registered as a Professional Engineer. He is in possession of both the Mine Managers' Certificates of Competency for Coal mines and for Metalliferous mines and has extensive experience in gold, platinum, chrome and coal mining. He is also a member of the Association of Mine Managers of South Africa and the Institute of Directors of Southern Africa.
During his earlier career development programme he was seconded by Gold Fields of South Africa to Thyssen Schachtbau AG, a mining contracting company in Germany specialising in shaft sinking (including freeze shafts), tunnel boring and haulage development and rehabilitation.
He was instrumental in the establishment of various mining ventures in Southern Africa and is one of the founding members of the Rhino Africa Mining group of companies.
Andre Pelser, Executive Director responsible for Operations, has more than 30 year's underground production experience, of which eight years were as production Mine Overseer in deep level gold mines. During his career as Mine Overseer he has been awarded the Mine Overseers Safety and Production Shields on Hartebeestfontein Gold Mine numerous times.
He is a team player and his excellent leadership qualities are well known and widely respected.
He is also a founding member of Newrak Mining, Rakcrete, P2 Mining and Rhino Africa Mining Holdings.
Our Non-Executive Chairperson, Mr Madubeko Thabo Cyril Gumbo has attained, BJURIS, LLB, certificate in Mining and Minerals (Unin) and LLM (RAU). He is a practising attorney, and practice as such under the name and style Gumbo & Co Attorneys, since 1990 to date.
He has served inter alia as follows:
Panel member of North West development facilitation appcal tribunal. Vice chairperson and treasurer, Black lawyers Association (North West Branch). Commissioner in small claims courts (Rustenburg and Mankwe). Acting Judge in the High Court of South Africa, North West Division (2009-2010). Examiner, Law Society of North West. Current board member of Potchefstroom School for Legal Practice (LSSA).

Non Executive Vice Chairperson, Mr. Reinhard Allgeier has a German B.Comm qualification with more than twenty-nine years' experience in financial management in South Africa, of which the last ten years was held in a top financial position. He is a finance consultant and trouble shooter, and also serves on the board of Grand Battery Technologies Pty Ltd. He is also a founding member of NEWRAK Mining (Pty) Ltd.

Financial Director, Mr Nicky Bloem was officially appointed as Finance Director from 2011, after he has served as the company’s Financial Consultant since the inception of the business in 2004.
Nicky founded his accounting firm, Bloem, Nel & Joubert Inc. in 1995. As a main shareholder and managing director of the firm, since 2003, he has focused on the practice management of the firm and business/finance consultation to selected clients on board / executive level. This enabled him to hold various fiduciary appointments, such as directorships, trusteeships, board co-opted consultant and executor of estates.
His qualifications include B.Com (Acc), B. Com (Acc) Hons, Certificate in Theory of Accounting, Chartered Certified Accountant, ACCA #1110951. CertIFRS(ACCA).
